The best possible start into life

Education and a firm roof over their head – for some people this is a self-evident component of their life, for many others it’s nearly unachievable. To help making a change, to help people not living on the bright side of life getting an optimal start into life – is the reason why I support „Freundeskreis Nepal e.V.“ and „ExpoBike“.  To have a permanent home and free access to education are the most important key requirements for an independent life and individual development.

Freundeskreis Nepal e. V.

The earthquake in Nepal in April 2015 has drawn the attention of the world to a country where there are shortages of many things – in particular the prerequisites for a successful education.  “Things that we take for granted, such as learning to read and write, are denied to many Nepalese children,” underlines Freundeskreis Nepal e.V. on their website. School buildings are in a very bad state, there is no learning material at all, or the families are often not able to buy such simple things as exercise books and pencils.” But education is the safest pathway to sustainably improve the economic and social situation of a country. “We help people to help themselves”, is the motto of ‘Freundeskreis Nepal e.V.’ whose main objective is the promotion and fostering of education for children in Nepal.  The association founds school partnerships, organizes sponsorships for many children, participates in the new construction of ruined school buildings and helps to finance the purchase of teaching material. Right now, after the devastating earthquake in April 2015, it is their main issue to provide people with food and water and a roof over their heads.

Appeal for Donations for Nepal

Dear friends, dear colleagues,

As you may know, I am working on some development projects in Nepal since several years.

Thus my friends and myself were shocked to hear about the severe earthquakes in April and May this year and to see the devastating impact on Kathmandu and Karthali.

I would be glad if you could help the Nepali people with a donation, either via our organisation or through any other donation account.

Expobike - Elsbroek Ingenieure

Expobike

To support homeless children and youngsters and, at the same time, doing sports and something for their own health is the commitment of EXPOBIKE.  Since 2011, the members of ImmoSport e.V. regularly saddle their racing bikes for a road racing tour from Cologne to Munich to the international real estate fair EXPO REAL. ImmoSport e.V. – an initiative of the real estate industry – donates the proceeds of the tour to the foundation „Off Road Kids e.V.“.  The main objective of this institution is to give homeless children and young people a home.  For this purpose they maintain street work stations in Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg and Cologne. “Since 1994 social workers have successfully helped almost 3.000 young people to leave the streets for good“, reports the association on their website. The foundation was awarded for its results-oriented concept by both the World Economic Forum and Swiss Jacobs Foundation.
